3 Things to Keep in Mind When Selecting a Credit Card
If you’re looking for a new credit card, there are literally hundreds of them to think about. Picking the one that’s best for you can be a difficult proposition.
However, there are a few things that you can keep in mind when opting for a credit card. Here are 3 aspects that are important:
#1: Avoid cards that offer only freebies
A number of cards usually offer freebies such as token T-shirts or even a temporary zero percent APR. It’s a good idea to avoid such offers as they usually cover the more important factors such as any fees or even the interest rate. For that matter, ignore all introductory offers as much as possible.
#2: Use comparison websites
There are a number of comparison sites that will help you pick a card that is just right for you. Whether it is Google’s credit card search tool that will help you find a card by certain factors. Other tools that you can use include CreditKarma.com, CreditCards.com, Bankrate.com and so on and so forth.
Take your time and look at the rewards but no matter, don’t sign up for the first offer that comes your way.
#3: Avoid rewards cards not unless you have zero debt
According to research, rewards cards usually have higher interest rates as opposed to non-rewards cards. IndexCreditCards.com states reveals that a non-rewards credit card is about 15.48 percent while a rewards credit card is 17.64 percent. While it might not look like much, it sure counts if you’re carrying a balance every other month.
