If you’re a celebrity, then you probably have an unlimited cash flow at your disposal. For the rest of us, there are a number of things that we might all want but can’t (and shouldn’t) afford.
So, here are a list of 4 things that people in the upper tax brackets can only afford:
#1: Snowmobiles/ Jet-Skis
Not unless you live where snowmobiles or jet-skis need to be used every day, this is one of those vehicles that be rented instead of bought. There are two costs associated with these type of vehicles, namely maintenance and fuel, that are not worth the investment on your part.
#2: Bicycles
If you live in the suburbs, then owning a bicycle can be a good choice. However, bikes that are expensive (about $1000 or more) are being robbed more and more these days, especially in cities like New York City. In fact, almost 800,000 to 2 million bikes are robbed nationwide every year.
#3: Vacation Homes
There’s every chance of causing negative cash flow instead of generating positive cash flow by the collection of rent and which should make you think twice about purchasing a vacation home as a result. Speaking of the former, maintenance costs, marketing, utilities among other expenses can be real drain if you’re not careful.
#4: Recreational Vehicles
Thanks to very little or no return on investment, it’s best to rent a recreation vehicle instead. With renting costs much lower while the resale value of most if not all RVs, almost guarantees that an owner will not enjoy return on this type of vehicle.
