Three ways to meet people in real life
Before the internet and services like Tinder came along, meeting people involved going out for meetups and social events. There is a case to be made that you are more likely to find someone and enjoy a meaningful relationship at a face-to-face meetup than through a social network or dating app. The common argument is that finding someone is harder than ever and the only recourse is through dating apps and services. The fact is that if you want to meet someone, there are plenty of ways you can do it without resorting to apps and services. Here are some ways you can actually meet people and see feel the chemistry:
Work happy hour
Almost every workplace has groups that attend happy hours at the end of the week. While it is not a good idea to date a co-worker, these events allow you to meet their friends. You don’t know who might come along with one of your coworkers. You just might hit it off.
Events
One good use of social media is to see which of your friends is going to a particular event. Pick an event you like and then offer to tag along or initiate the group. Encourage your friend to bring anyone along and go about making more friends.
Birthday parties
Another great way to meet people is through birthday parties. Unlike specific events, birthday parties draw in whole segments of people, from friends, relatives, and coworkers. As far as meeting people goes, you will never find a better way to meet a more diverse group of people.
